Naples: Mobile Police raid Buvero, busting drug dealing ring in the heart of the city

Naples – The drug dealing ring operating in the Sant'Antonio district, known as "Buvero," in the city center, was dismantled at dawn. Officers from the Flying Squad arrested six people believed to be running a cocaine and soft drug trafficking ring that, according to investigators, supplied not only the capital but also several towns in the province of Naples.

The operation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, led to the execution of precautionary measures against the alleged members of the criminal group: two suspects were taken to prison, while four others were placed under house arrest.

According to investigators' reconstruction, the drug dealing network operated in a structured manner with clearly defined roles. At the top, there was apparently a single promoter, responsible for financing the entire illicit activity, supported by a trusted man who managed relationships with buyers and coordinated the supply of drugs to the dealers.

The organization and the blitz

The other members of the group were supposedly responsible for guarding the drugs and packaging the doses for retail sale. This well-established system allowed the "Buvero" square to become a hub for the sale of cocaine and marijuana in the city center and surrounding areas.

According to investigators, the area of ​​the village of Sant'Antonio falls within an area historically divided between the spheres of influence of the Contini and Mazzarella clans, although the organization hit by the raid is not directly linked to the two Camorra gangs.

Officers from the Campania Crime Prevention Unit and canine units from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue also participated in the operation, having been deployed to search for narcotics during searches carried out at the same time as the arrests.
