Delmastro's business with the Caroccia family of the Senese clan is in turmoil.

From the stake in the "Bisteccherie d'Italia" company to indirect ties to the Senese clan, the case is rocking the government ahead of the referendum. Accusations have been leveled by the Democratic Party, AVS, and IV: "This is a very serious matter, clarity is needed." The undersecretary defends himself, but the controversy continues.

The case of the shares and the company under observation

The controversy surrounding Undersecretary of Justice Andrea Delmastro's dealings with the Caroccia family, linked to the Senese clan, a dominant criminal group in Rome, continues unabated.
At the center of the case is the company "Le 5 Forchette Srl," established in 2024 in Biella and operating the "Bisteccherie d'Italia" restaurant on Via Tuscolana. Its shareholders included members of the Brothers of Italy party, including Delmastro himself, with a 25% stake, along with local executives and Piedmontese administrators.

The majority share, however, was registered to Miriam Caroccia, just eighteen years old and appointed sole director, daughter of Mauro Caroccia, who had been definitively convicted of fictitious ownership aggravated by mafia aiding and abetting.

The ties with the clan and the corporate transfers
According to what has emerged, the relationship between the Caroccia family and the Senese clan—led by Michele “'O Pazz”—represents one of the most controversial elements of the entire affair.
The controversy intensified after the second appeal in 2025 upheld the convictions of the Senese and Caroccia families. Only subsequently did Delmastro sell his stake to a company he wholly controlled, before the final confirmation by the Supreme Court and Caroccia's arrest.

Delmastro's defense: "The Mafia is a mountain of shit."

Speaking from Catanzaro during an event on the referendum, Delmastro rejected all accusations:
“The mafia is a mountain of shit for me,” he declared, asserting his political commitment and recalling the threats he has received over the years.

Words that, however, were not enough to silence political criticism.

Opposition to the attack: "Disturbing incident"
The opposition's attack was harsh. Marco Grimaldi (Avs) spoke of a "disturbing affair" linking Brothers of Italy circles to Roman mafia families.
Peppe Provenzano (Democratic Party) announced his intention to take the case to the Anti-Mafia Commission and raised questions about the lack of transparency, from the knowledge of the partner's family history to the failure to declare her shareholding.

Sandro Ruotolo also called for his resignation, calling the situation "now unsustainable," while Andrea Orlando pointed the finger at alleged cover-up attempts and a lack of transparency.

Pressure on Meloni and Nordio

The opposition also targeted the silence of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Justice Minister Carlo Nordio, which they deemed "deafening" and politically unacceptable.

Matteo Renzi, while advocating a guarantor approach, calls Delmastro "a terrible example," while Senator Alfredo Bazoli highlights the political contradictions of the undersecretary, who has already been the subject of controversy over his handling of the justice system.

A political case destined to grow

The affair, which emerged just before the referendum, risks turning into a major political issue.
Requests for clarification are multiplying, and the dossier could soon reach parliament. However, the main issue remains unclear: how aware Delmastro was of the Caroccia family's ties and whether he acted with due transparency.
