Fugitive Giuseppe Prisco arrested in Barcelona: he faces life in prison for the D'Orsi murder.

Giuseppe Prisco, the 33-year-old Neapolitan wanted for the murder of Salvatore D'Orsi, committed in March 2018 in the Ponticelli neighborhood, on the eastern outskirts of Naples, has fled to Catalonia. This morning in Barcelona, ​​Spanish authorities, working closely with the Italian State Police, located and arrested the fugitive. Prisco had been hiding in Spain using forged identity documents.

The operation executed a European Arrest Warrant issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples, at the request of the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA). The arrest comes at a perfect time: just yesterday, the man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Naples preliminary hearing judge.

The Ponticelli feud

The investigation, conducted by the Naples Flying Squad and coordinated by the Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), placed Salvatore D'Orsi's murder within a violent and clearly defined Camorra context. The crime, in fact, arose amid the bloody conflict between two rival criminal organizations competing for the Ponticelli territory: the De Luca Bossa clan, to which Prisco is believed to be linked, and the De Micco clan, to which the victim belonged.

The crime and the escape

According to investigators' reconstruction, on March 12, 2018, Prisco, acting together with two accomplices (who had already been subject to the same precautionary measure), allegedly ambushed D'Orsi, killing him instantly with three gunshots.

In June 2025, when law enforcement moved to enforce the pre-trial detention order, the 33-year-old managed to disappear, sparking a fugitive status that lasted approximately a year. Prisco now faces charges of intentional homicide and illegal possession of firearms, aggravated by mafia methods.

The victim was believed to be close to the De Micco clan and active in local drug trafficking. According to the prosecution, the perpetrators of the crime were Michele Minichini and Giuseppe Prisco.
