Naples faces the first heatwave of June: seven cities will be under yellow warning starting Wednesday.

Naples — Starting Wednesday, June 17, Naples will officially enter the grip of the heat. The Ministry of Health has issued a yellow warning (pre-alert level) for seven Italian cities, including the capital of Campania.

Today and tomorrow, temperatures will remain pleasant across much of the country, but the situation will change rapidly. According to the latest bulletin published on the Ministry of Health website, only Catania has a yellow warning today. Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16, the pre-alert will apply exclusively to Perugia.

The turning point will come on Wednesday, when seven provincial capitals will move to the alert level: Ancona, Bologna, Florence, Naples, Perugia, Rieti, and Rome. The monitoring system, managed by the Lazio Region's Department of Epidemiology as part of the National Heatwave Prevention Plan, is active in 27 Italian cities.

Green zones (no health risk) are still dominant today and tomorrow, but starting Wednesday, the situation will change for the seven cities listed. Authorities are already recommending special attention to the most vulnerable segments of the population, especially the elderly, children, and people with chronic conditions.
