The Prefect of Naples has convened a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety to address issues related to nightlife and traffic in the hilly area of Via Aniello Falcone. Coordinated interventions and increased security measures will be implemented ahead of Thursday's nighttime hours.

Naples is strengthening nighttime security controls on Via Aniello Falcone.
An extraordinary meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety was held today at the Government Palace, convened by Prefect Michele di Bari to address issues related to nightlife and traffic congestion in and around Via Aniello Falcone.
At the heart of the debate are the critical issues that emerge primarily during the Thursday night hours, between 23:00 PM and 03:00 AM, when traffic becomes congested and improper road use occurs frequently, jeopardizing public safety and the quality of life of residents.
The meeting was attended by law enforcement officials, including Police Commissioner Maurizio Agricola, Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri Biagio Storniolo, and Commander of the Guardia di Finanza Carmine Virno, as well as representatives of the City of Naples , including Councilor for Legality and Municipal Police Antonio De Jesu and Deputy Commander Antonio Vecchione. Representatives of the Metropolitan Police and representatives of the Via Aniello Falcone Civic Committee were also present.
The discussion highlighted the need to revise the distribution of operational responsibilities among police forces to ensure a more effective and timely presence in the areas most affected by overcrowding. Among the agreed measures is the strengthening of surveillance and control services, with increased operational commitment from the Naples Municipal Police, supported by other police forces in institutional synergy.
Particular attention will be paid to the removal of illegally parked vehicles by tow trucks, to clear the streets and improve traffic flow. The shared goal is to ensure compliance with the rules of civil coexistence, guarantee road usability, and protect urban safety with targeted checks, especially during peak nightlife hours.
The Committee finally announced that the situation will be constantly monitored to assess the effectiveness of the interventions and, if necessary, adopt further measures to maintain public order and safety in the area.
