The Festival of the Vesuvian Villas is entering the heart of its program and, following the success of its opening nights, continues to transform the historic residences of the Golden Mile into prestigious stages for theater, music, and dance. The festival, directed by Bruno Tabacchini and promoted by the Fondazione Ente Ville Vesuviane, thus confirms its mission: to enhance the monumental heritage of Vesuvius through a program that combines entertainment, art, and culture.
The first event is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, at 21 pm, in the evocative setting of Villa Mascolo in Portici, where Massimiliano Gallo will take the stage with the show “Letter to Eduardo”.
Accompanied by Carmen Scognamiglio and the Napoli Nord Big Band, conducted by Maestro Mimmo Napolitano, the actor will engage in an intense dialogue with Eduardo De Filippo, retracing his extraordinary artistic and human legacy. A story that intertwines words, music, and emotion, transforming into a true tribute to the great master of Italian theater.
The following day, Sunday, July 12, at 9:00 pm, the Festival will move to Villa Campolieto, in Ercolano, for the “Excellence of Dance” Grand Gala, which will also host the DAS – Dance Art and Entertainment Award.
The evening's star will be star Giuseppe Picone, joined by artists from the Munich State Theater, the Varna Opera Theatre, and young dancers from La Scala and leading schools in Campania. Artistic direction will be entrusted to Francesco Annarumma, who will also create the final choreography with his Dance Project Junior.
The exhibition will then continue at Palazzo Bisignano, in the Barra district of Naples.
On Tuesday, July 14th, at 8:30 PM, Fabrizio Mandara will take the audience on a journey through the great tradition of classical Neapolitan song. A pared-down recital, built on the power of voice and guitar, will alternate famous songs, poetic passages, and historic Neapolitan cultural caricatures.
The program will culminate on Wednesday, July 15th, again at 8:30 pm, with the national premiere of "A Special Family. A Theatrical Portrait of Peppino De Filippo."
The show, written and directed by Luigi Russo, will feature Domenico Pinelli, Mariachiara Augenti, and Russo himself, with original music by maestro Sergio Colicchio. The opera offers a vivid and unprecedented portrait of Peppino De Filippo, going beyond a simple commemoration to reveal the most authentic side of the man and artist, a protagonist of an unrepeatable era of Italian theater.
