The Campania Regional Council has issued an official statement reaffirming the full validity of Vincenzo Cuomo's appointment as Councilor for Land Management and Heritage, thus responding to the investigation initiated by Senator Sergio Rastrelli.

According to the investigations conducted by the relevant offices, the assignment granted to the former mayor of Portici—appointed by presidential decree on December 31, 2025—is completely free of any impediments. This formal step has already been considered and implemented since the first meeting of the Council, held on January 26.

Specifically, Palazzo Santa Lucia emphasizes that Councilor Cuomo's position is fully compliant with current legislation: his resignation from the office of Mayor of Portici, submitted on December 31, had already largely expired the twenty-day grace period established by law at the time of the handover.

Finally, a precedent in case law further strengthens the Council's decision: in recent months, the Campania Regional Administrative Court (TAR) itself had already ruled on the matter, rejecting with an order the request for a precautionary suspension filed against the councilor's appointment.
