Trasnova, a new company in the aerospace sector to relocate Pomigliano workers.

A possible breakthrough in the Trasnova dispute comes from the meeting convened today, Monday, September 14, at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. Representatives of the Ministry of Mimit and the Campania Region participated in the meeting, along with the national and regional secretariats of Fim, Fiom, Uilm, Fismic, and Ugl.

The meeting focused on the future of the approximately 50 Trasnova workers who worked at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, the Gian Battista Vico site, and who have been waiting for a job solution for months.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to identifying a job relocation program. During the meeting, a new business proposal involving Sia Srl of Acerra, a company operating in the aerospace sector, was presented.

The project in the aerospace sector

The proposal calls for the establishment of a NewCo, owned by multiple entities, with the aim of implementing a highly automated and specialized industrial project in the aerospace sector in Acerra.

According to what the company reported to the ministerial table, the project is expected to be implemented in approximately 18 months and could lead to an initial hiring phase for approximately 32 workers from Trasnova.

This proposal, if implemented, would reopen employment prospects for a significant portion of the employees involved in the dispute.

The satisfaction of the Fiom

"We are pleased with the outcome of the meeting and the possibility that the dispute will conclude with a partial return to work for the Trasnova employees in Pomigliano," said Mauro Cristiani, general secretary of Fiom Napoli, and Mario Di Costanzo, head of the automotive sector at Fiom Napoli.

For the union, the identification of the new industrial entity is a positive element, but it is not yet sufficient to consider the dispute closed.

"All Trasnova workers must be put back to work," Cristiani and Di Costanzo emphasized, also calling for the timelines set for the new industrial project to be implemented quickly.

"We need certain timeframes and training."

Fiom therefore urges the Campania Region to play a direct and consistent role in guiding the transition phase and making this new industrial opportunity a reality.

It's not just the hiring issue. The union is also calling for the development of a training and professional retraining program, necessary to enable workers to acquire the skills required by the new aerospace project.

At the same time, the need to ensure income support tools are available during the period between leaving the previous job and potentially entering the New Company is highlighted.

The industrial challenge for the territory

For Fiom, the Trasnova affair is part of a broader issue concerning the industrial future of the Naples and Campania regions.

"Our region needs to see the opportunities for developing high-quality industrial activities and increasing employment levels materialize," the union representatives emphasize.

The prospect of a NewCo dedicated to aerospace is therefore considered an opportunity to be carefully evaluated and monitored. The next step will be to transform the project announced at the MIMIT meeting into a concrete industrial plan, with defined timelines, investments, and employment numbers.

For Trasnova workers, the game remains open: 32 potential hires represent a first step, but the union's stated goal remains the full reintegration of all employees involved in the dispute.
