San Giorgio a Cremano's third municipal nursery school opens, offering 60 new places.

Sixty new places for children aged 0 to 3, and another nursery on the horizon. San Giorgio a Cremano is strengthening its network of childcare services with the opening of its third municipal nursery, inaugurated this morning on Via Brodolini.

The facility, built with funding from the National Research Council (NRRP), covers approximately 900 square meters and is organized on a single level. A large green area is also available for the little ones, while the interior spaces are divided into sections for infants, semi-weaned infants, and weaned infants.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Michele Carbone, the City Council and councilors, families, educators, the Councilor for Social Policies Ciro Di Giacomo and Regional Councilor Giorgio Zinno, former mayor of the city, who in 2024 had initiated the process for the construction of the work.

With the new service, the total number of places available in the city, including accredited facilities, rises to 290. This number is expected to increase further with the fourth municipal nursery planned for Via Cavalli di Bronzo.

"Today's inauguration isn't just the opening of a new facility, but the tangible result of a specific administrative decision: investing in children means investing in the city's future and providing tangible support to families in their daily lives," said Carbone.

The mayor then highlighted the work carried out in recent years and identified the upcoming nursery on Via Cavalli di Bronzo as the administration's new goal: "Our goal is clear: to increase available places, improve the quality of services, and make San Giorgio a Cremano an increasingly family-friendly city."

Zinno also expressed satisfaction, noting that the project will launch in 2024: "Seeing this facility fully completed and ready to welcome children today demonstrates the importance of planning investments and ensuring continuity in administrative decisions."

The regional councilor also reiterated his commitment to supporting, through the Campania Region, municipalities that choose to invest in childcare services: "Nursery schools are not an expense, but an investment in the future, in children's growth, and in the ability for many families to balance work and life."

With the construction of its fourth nursery, San Giorgio a Cremano aims to exceed the 45% capacity target set by European regulations for 2030.

"A caring city is a city that doesn't just respond to present needs, but also plans what families will need in the years to come. This is the direction we've chosen for San Giorgio a Cremano," Carbone concluded.
