Afragola: 38-year-old man flees after failing to stop at checkpoint; arrested after lengthy pursuit

It was a busy night between Afragola and Casoria, where a 38-year-old man with a criminal record was arrested by State Police officers after a lengthy pursuit. The man is being investigated for dangerous flight, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official.

The operation occurred during a territorial patrol. Officers from the Afragola Police Station, while driving along Via Alcide De Gasperi, noticed a car carrying the 38-year-old. Upon seeing the patrol car, the driver apparently accelerated to avoid detection, despite being ordered to stop.

A pursuit then began, during which, according to police reports, the driver allegedly performed several maneuvers that were dangerous for traffic. During the escape, the car also allegedly collided with the officers' patrol car.

The chase continued to Via Concordia in Casoria. At that point, the 38-year-old allegedly abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot.

However, the officers reached him and stopped him. At the end of the operation, the man was arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities as part of the investigation into the alleged incidents.
