An elderly tourist couple was robbed in broad daylight in Piazza Garibaldi, on the corner of Corso Garibaldi, a busy area with heavy daytime traffic. The incident was reportedly captured on a surveillance camera.

The images, the press release states, show two young men arriving in the area on bicycles; shortly thereafter, one of them approaches the couple and snatches an object from the woman, then runs away.

Francesco Emilio Borrelli, a member of Parliament for the Green-Left Alliance, commented: "Piazza Garibaldi continues to be the scene of criminal activity in broad daylight, including against the elderly and tourists. These criminals act fearlessly, amidst the crowd, convinced they can strike and disappear into thin air."

In the statement, Borrelli calls for the images to be acquired immediately and for those responsible to be identified, and urges a stronger and more continuous presence in the area of ​​the station and Corso Garibaldi to protect residents and tourists.
