The Vespucci returns home: a tour of the wonders of the Italian peninsula before the grand finale at the Barcolana.

The Amerigo Vespucci's World Tour is drawing to a close. Following a victorious campaign in North America, the Italian Navy Training Ship is preparing to return to Italian waters for a long promotional and training tour of the Italian peninsula, culminating in October at the Barcolana regatta in Trieste.

The return voyage, sponsored by the Ministry of Defense along with numerous other ministries and supported by Enel, will begin from Sardinia immediately after the Spanish stop in Cadiz. From September 13th to 15th, the "most beautiful sailing ship in the world" will dock at Molo Ichnusa in Cagliari, opening its decks to the public on the afternoons of the 13th and 14th. On September 15th, in the open sea, it will reunite with the Etna ship for the 2026 End of Training Campaign Ceremony.

The journey will continue with a strong symbolic and emotional value:

Castellammare di Stabia (17-19 September): an emotional homecoming for the ship, to the shipyard where it was launched in 1931.

Naples (20-25 September): the ship will support the international sailing spectacle by hosting the America's Cup teams, engaged in the preliminary regatta of the 38th edition.

Venice (2-7 October): moored at Riva di San Biasio, it will be the backdrop to the 15th Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium at the Arsenale, a strategic forum on maritime security and global cooperation.

The Tour's official conclusion is set in Trieste from October 8th to 12th. Here, the Vespucci will participate in the 58th Barcolana and welcome the arrival of the Italian Navy Nastro Rosa Veloce, supported by the initiatives of the "IN Italia" Village.

To cap off an extraordinary year, once the campaign in Trieste has concluded, the Amerigo Vespucci will make a final stop of honor in Ravenna, celebrating the Romagna city's election as the Italian Capital of the Sea 2026.
