Nocera Superiore: A 10-square-meter illegal landfill seized; two under investigation.

According to the prosecution, an area of approximately 10 square meters was transformed into an illegal landfill, with approximately 300 tons of waste illegally dumped. This is the context at the center of the operation conducted today by the Carabinieri Forestali in Nocera Superiore, in the province of Salerno, which led to two precautionary measures and the preventive seizure of the area and the vehicles believed to be involved in the illegal activities.

The order was issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Nocera Inferiore at the request of the Prosecutor's Office. The two individuals under investigation were banned from residing in the municipality and required to report to the judicial police.

The operation was carried out by the Cava de' Tirreni Carabinieri Forestry Unit, with the support of the Salerno Carabinieri Forestry Group. Along with the precautionary measures, the military executed the precautionary seizure of the entire area and the vehicles allegedly used in the disputed operations.

According to the investigation, illegal waste collection, transportation, and disposal activities were carried out on the land, resulting in approximately 300 tons of materials. The area, covering approximately one hectare, was then used as a landfill without the necessary permits.

The investigation continues to shed full light on the alleged conduct and any liability. The precautionary measures are appealable, and the charges, formulated during the preliminary investigation, will be submitted to the judge for review in the subsequent phases of the proceedings. The suspects remain presumed innocent until a final conviction.
