In the photo, a detail of the story.
A breakthrough in the investigation into the death of young Domenico Caliendo. The Naples Court of Review has overturned the seven-month injunction imposed on cardiac surgeon Emma Bergonzoni, deeming the precautionary measures unnecessary.
The decision concerns the professional subject of the order issued as part of the investigation conducted by the Naples Prosecutor's Office into the child's death. Investigators are accusing the cardiac surgeon of allegedly falsifying medical records.
The investigation is being coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Antonio Ricci and Deputy Prosecutor Giuseppe Tittaferrante. Bergonzoni is being defended by attorneys Vincenzo Maiello and Emanuele Raimondo.
The review order was notified by the NAS Carabinieri, who will now forward it to the Medical Association and the hospital where the cardiac surgeon worked.
The cancellation of the precautionary interdiction measure does not close the investigation into Domenico Caliendo's death, which remains to be clarified in terms of the aspects contested by the Prosecutor's Office and any responsibilities.
