Harmònya in Salerno: Music, Technology, and Listening in the Future

Harmònya, an original work by Claudio Collano, directed by Claudio Insegno, arrives in Salerno. It is an interactive emotional performance that blends music, dance, and audience participation in 2085.

From November 14th to 15th, the Teatro Nuovo in Salerno hosts Harmònya, an original project conceived by Claudio Collano and directed by Claudio Insegno. Around twenty artists, including actors, singers, and dancers, will perform in a format described as an Interactive Emotionalist, combining music, technology, and audience engagement.

The story is set in 2085, in an isolated bunker where a group of researchers has created a Harmònya System capable of recognizing emotional frequencies: fears, memories, desires, and hopes. The protagonists Aaron, Leo, Iris, Noah, Kyra, and Lyra embody different dimensions of humanity; throughout the show, it is demonstrated that what appears to be an "anomaly" is actually the very stuff of existence.

"I imagined a future where technology can help us rediscover what we risk losing: the ability to listen to one another and recognize our differences. Harmònya was born from this question and the idea that music can once again become a common language," says author Claudio Collano.

"I don't want to stage a machine trying to become human, but human beings who, through a machine, are forced to rediscover their own humanity. Every element must have a narrative function: music, dance, images, light, and technology must tell a story, without ever detracting from the performers," adds director Claudio Insegno.

The bunker isn't just a futuristic set, but becomes a fully-fledged character: initially ordered, then cracked by the Virus, and finally transformed by the Resonance. Harmònya evolves, moving from an observing System to a presence capable of recognizing its own limits. Music, along with dance and images, constructs a unified theatrical organism, with the audience gradually entering the System.

In the stage experience, the fourth wall crumbles: the spectator is invited to confront the choice between control and freedom, noise and listening, fear and trust. At the climax, the Frequencies converge and music reaffirms its role as a common language: no victory for the machine, but the possibility of starting over together.

The project's framework is a combination of music, theater, dance, and interaction. Harmònya was conceived as an original performance by Claudio Collano and directed by Claudio Insegno; the narrative explores the tension between control and freedom and invites the audience to participate in the formation of collective Frequency.
