Pozzuoli – What gave the boy away was the block of drugs he threw into the garden when the Carabinieri entered the house. It was an instinctive move, likely an attempt to dispose of the drugs before they were discovered. But for the Carabinieri in Pozzuoli, the scene was enough to trigger an even more thorough search.
The boy is just 16 years old. A total of 140 grams of hashish were found in his home. This quantity, according to investigators, was not consistent with personal consumption and led to charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
When the Carabinieri entered the house, the sixteen-year-old allegedly grabbed a block of hashish weighing approximately 100 grams and tried to throw it outside, towards the garden.
A movement that didn't go unnoticed by the military. The block was recovered and seized. But the search didn't stop there.
The Carabinieri also searched the boy's room for other narcotics. It was during this phase that the drug-sniffing dog from the Sarno unit also went into action.
The dog's nose helped locate another quantity of hashish. Another 40 grams were hidden in the sixteen-year-old's room.
In the end, the search resulted in 140 grams of hashish being seized.
A quantity that transformed what for the parents was a suspicion linked to possible drug use into a much more serious discovery.
This is perhaps the most dramatic aspect of the story. The boy's parents, according to what emerged during the intervention, suspected their son of drug use.
A fear they had evidently already had occasion to consider. What they never imagined, however, was that the sixteen-year-old could have such a large quantity of hashish at home, which, according to the prosecution, could be destined for drug dealing.
The discovery of the drugs would have therefore taken the family by surprise, transforming an already present concern in the house into a real family drama.
At the end of the operation, the sixteen-year-old was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to deal.
The young man, a minor, was taken to the Colli Aminei First Reception Center in Naples, where he will remain pending further decisions from the juvenile justice authority.
The case is now being handled by the judiciary, which is tasked with reconstructing the origin of the hashish and, above all, the destination of the drugs seized from the sixteen-year-old's home.
