"Dear President, upon receiving your note, we hoped for a moment that it was the long-awaited response to our countless requests for discussion that, from April to today, have remained unanswered. Instead, the request for contributions to a new Socio-Economic Plan to address the Covid19 health emergency appears at the very least paradoxical".
This is the incipit of the letter with which the general secretaries of Cgil, Cisl and Uil Campania – Nicola Ricci, Doriana Buonavita and Giovanni Sgambati – responded to the letter from the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, delivered on Saturday, in which trade union organizations were invited to send by today, “useful contributions to the construction of proposals to submit to the Government”.
Same script as what happened for the first Socio-Economic Plan launched by the Campania Region during the lockdown in March. This time, however, Cgil Cisl and Uil Campania are not having it and are asking De Luca for an urgent meeting, even via videoconference, which can no longer be postponed. In the letter addressed to De Luca, Cgil Cisl and Uil Campania recall how, on several occasions, the union has not failed to provide its written contributions (the first time on April 17 and, again, on May 28) useful for addressing the health emergency and still valid.
"Now that we are going through a desirable phase of recovery, which risks being inevitably compromised by the full emergency situation, both from a health and economic point of view - write Ricci, Buonavita and Sgambati - we believe that a fair and constructive discussion can no longer be postponed that looks to the good of the entire Campania community and is able to avert the devastating effects of the pandemic, which no one can think of facing alone. At that time we will be happy to illustrate and share our proposals on how to best deal with the emergency phase, in no way being able to imagine that institutional consultation could be exhausted in a mere exercise in style based on epistolary exchanges. Trusting in your political sensitivity, we await an urgent convocation, in the absence of which we do not exclude initiatives to mobilize categories and confederation in the coming days".
