Diesel mixed with oil, distributor seized in Caserta
LThe Guardia di Finanza has seized the diesel fuel, as specific chemical analyses revealed it was not compliant with that standard, and therefore of lower quality. For the owner of the business, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, which coordinated the investigation, requesting and obtaining from the investigating judge the issuance of the preventive seizure decree, has hypothesized the crimes of commercial fraud and fraudulent evasion of tax payment, in particular excise duties on fuel.
From the analyses, it would have emerged – according to the investigators – that the product sold as diesel was in reality the result of “mixing different hydrocarbons, similar to diesel, and one with characteristics similar to lubricating oil”.
