Naples, yet another breakdown on Metro line 1.
Uforced to reach their workplaces by alternative means and taxis. Citizens: “Continuous inconveniences and forced to travel crowded together in carriages”.
More inconvenience for users of the Naples Metro. On the morning of January 11, due to a breakdown, transport service was suspended on the entire stretch of Line 1 of the Naples Metro. Several citizens reported the inconvenience to the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
“Disruptions are now the order of the day. At the Toledo stop they made everyone get off because 2 trains were broken, so the journey did not continue towards Piscinola. I reached my workplace by taxi. In addition to the disruption this morning, the problem is ongoing. It makes no sense to impose curfews and restrictions if every day we are forced to travel on trains all crowded together. We ask for more journeys and more checks in the morning, when people go to work, this situation is no longer tolerable.” This is the testimony of a citizen who turned to Councilor Borrelli.
“Citizens are tired and exasperated by these constant inconveniences of public transport. Between delays, malfunctions, overcrowding, difficulties in obtaining travel tickets, every day users are forced to venture into a jungle to be able to go to work, and this is truly inconceivable.
A metropolis, worthy of being called by this name, must have an impeccable public transport service, here we are very far from this target and the ones who pay the price are the citizens. Furthermore, when tourism can start again, visitors will not receive a nice business card from our city and will not be put at ease if things continue like this.
Furthermore, allowing such gatherings on public transport every day is a contradiction if citizens are required to respect the anti-covid rules and regulations and commercial activities are closed.
We sent a note to Anm to ask for explanations on these umpteenth breakdowns and to request an adequate plan of ordinary and extraordinary interventions and to request an increase in the number of trips. This situation is no longer tolerable.”- the words of Councilor Borrelli.
