Naples, investigation into the statue of Maradona, which is not there yet.
There is not even a sketch of the statue dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona that should be installed in Piazzale Tecchio, in front of his 'temple', the former San Paolo stadium that now bears the name of the Argentine champion. And yet the monument that Naples would like to dedicate to him is already under investigation.
The Prosecutor's Office, in fact, according to press reports, has opened a file, without suspects, to shed light on the commission set up by the Municipality to collect expressions of interest and evaluate the most suitable project for the construction of the statue. The investigating team is the same one that deals with the clashes that took place in Naples last October 22 when the governor of Campania, De Luca, announced the hypothesis of a red zone to protect the region from Covid.
Are there connections and are there investigations into possible infiltration of the ultras world? This is probably one of the aspects at the center of the investigation. The fact is that in the last few hours the men of the Digos have acquired documents relating to the institution of the commission in the Municipality.
