The series of cultural events, of which this initiative is a part, is promoted by theItalian Library Association, Campania Section, in collaboration with AIE, ALI and Mezzocannone 8- Polo della Cultura as well as with the support of the Guarantor of the Rights of Prisoners of the Campania Region, Dr. Ciambriello.
The virtual presentation will focus on issues related to reading education, the promotion of culture, the impetus for library activity, their valorization and the importance of books in a historical moment like the current one.
Culture, in its broad declinations such as reading and the love of books, must always be defended, being a tool for transmitting values but above all for education and training.
“The seed of reading” will be an event with distinctive features, there will be a special guest, Don Luigi Merola, Chairman of the A' Voc d'è creature Foundation, an organization that has been working for years against school dropouts, juvenile delinquency and in support of the growth and education of certain categories of young people.
The doctor Maria Pia Cacace, librarian and president of the Campania Section of the Italian Library Association, is proud to set up a real discussion square on topics related to the promotion of reading.
The Foundation is also involved in an activity to combat the Camorra. Don Luigi Merola is a prominent personality, well-known in the Campania panorama, known for being a journalist, priest and essayist.
Merola's distinguishing feature is certainly his strong spirit of helping the most disadvantaged categories of young people to whom he addresses with dedication. His recovery activities are well-known.
The event
In the online event that will be held on March 26 at 17 pm: “There will be a dialogue between two people,” explained Dr. Maria Pia Cacace, “We will get to know intensely the strength and commitment of Don Luigi Merola who, for years, has fought for the recovery of young people who were born and raised in difficult neighborhoods. Our spectators will be able to decide to intervene and ask questions,” underlined the president, “The protagonists will be the words and stories that, when put into circulation, can convey important messages and lay the foundations for the construction of healthy values,” concluded the president.
Technical and organizational support will be provided by Dr. Remo Rivelli, librarian and Cer member of AIB Campania.
