Naples. Contract extended to 144 Local Police officers. Contract extension is valid at least until October 23
RThe 23 local police officers of Naples who have obtained an extension of their assignment will remain in service at least until October 144. The confirmation was given to the council members of the council commission 'Youth and Local Police'. During the proceedings, chaired exceptionally by councilor Rosario Andreozzi due to the unavailability of president Salvatore Pace, the commander of the Corps Ciro Esposito explained that "the available resources did not allow us to further extend the period or to scroll through the ranking of eligible candidates (about ten) who were not contracted in the first phase. We are therefore working to explore further funding possibilities to extend the period". The issue was also addressed yesterday during a meeting of the local police commanders of the capital cities within theancient.

The DIRE Agency reports: "The Municipality of Naples, still Esposito, has used all the resources assigned so far and the new decree for the distribution of national funds for security is being published, and, as soon as possible, after 30 days from publication, a new project will be presented. For Esposito, the situation of the local police personnel "is unsustainable from a numerical point of view: when the pre-bankruptcy was declared, in 2011 - the commander underlined - the Corps could count on 2.300 units while today, according to data from May, the local police of the Municipality of Naples counts on only 1.380 units to guarantee every day, 24 hours a day, the services necessary to protect the liveability of the city".

Even from an anagraphic point of view the situation is not the best since "526 agents are over 60, 432 over 50. This is enough to justify the attention of the Administration not to lose the young people on fixed-term contracts, excellently trained and who are doing an excellent job: it would be a disaster".
