Su provision of the Civil Protection: weather alert extended in Campania until tomorrow evening.
Yellow criticality until 23.59pm and possible thunderstorms. For these reasons the Civil protection of the Campania Region has extended the weather alert warning with Yellow hydrogeological criticality already in force throughout Campania for rain and thunderstorms until 23.59pm tomorrow.
The reason for the extended weather alert depends on the disturbance that “it will persist in the regional territory throughout today and tomorrow: showers and thunderstorms are expected, locally even intense with possible gusts of wind in the thunderstorms”.
The storm phenomena will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapidity of evolution, with damage to roofs and temporary structures due to gusts of wind. Possible lightning and hailstorms.
This weather picture is associated with a hydrogeological risk for Yellow level storms with possible: – Surface runoff with possible phenomena of material transport; – Flooding of areas adjacent to watercourses also due to local criticalities (culverts, narrowings, etc.); – Flooding of underground and ground floor rooms; – Surface flow of water in roadways and possible backflow phenomena of rainwater disposal systems with overflow and involvement of depressed urban areas; – Falling rocks and occasional landslides, even in the absence of precipitation – Falling branches or trees.
