Mauro from Mantua, real name Maurizio Buratti, a 61-year-old bodybuilder, is in serious condition. He is well known to the public of the programme “La Zanzara” on Radio 24 as a regular commentator and a 'famous' anti-vax campaigner.
"He is sick, he is not responding to treatment. We should have intubated him earlier but for a whole day he stubbornly resisted: only when things got worse did he change his mind", as reported in the Corriere della Sera from some sources at the Borgo Trento hospital (Verona) where he is hospitalized in very serious conditions.
The news was then given by Giuseppe Cruciani, host of the program “La Zanzara” on Radio24, explaining that the man's clinical situation is very serious.
It seems he had been ill for days but not even the serious symptoms had convinced him to go to the hospital. Indeed, he boasted on the radio that he had shown up at a supermarket just a few days ago with a fever of 38°C before being admitted to intensive care..
Giuseppe Cruciani told in an interview with the newspaper in via Solferino :
"For him the vaccine was an experimental serum, the last time I heard from him was Sunday evening. I was with the head physician. He recommended him again to follow all the hospital's indications. But until the end he did not want to be intubated".
He called Mauro a conspiracy theorist: “He defines the vaccine as an experimental serum, refuses to take it and even says that he would have asked for asylum in Korea or Turkey. He sees conspiracies in banks, Jews, pharmaceutical companies, he is also convinced that Parenzo was the son of Riccardo Schicchi. He does not participate in any movement, but is part of denialist chats, where he certainly feeds on concepts".
