“Justice, justice, justice,” the unanimous cry. Then more shouts, tears and hugs at the funeral of the fishmonger killed by robbers on the evening of the day before Christmas Eve in Boscoreale.
The request to find and prosecute the perpetrators of the robbery was invoked by a thousand people who followed the funeral of Antonio Morione.
The procession started from Morione's house and stopped in front of the fish market in Via Della Rocca II, before arriving at the church of Spirito Santo, known as Carmine, in Torre Annunziata for the funeral. Moriore was killed with a gunshot to the face by one of the two bandits on the run.
Before the start of the funeral celebration, the Archbishop of Naples, Don Mimmo Battaglia, prayed near the victim's coffin and then greeted the family.
"My heart is full of tears, I would like to hug Antonio's family, especially his wife and children. Antonio's was a heinous, absurd crime. Antonio from heaven where you are, continue to bless and support the people you love. Your departure will never be a distance. Pray for all the people you have met in life, they are sad and have wounded hearts... I don't know how, I don't know when, I don't know where Antonio, but we will meet again, we will hug each other again, because love is stronger than death and those who love never die. Thank you for your life and peace to you."
These are the salient thoughts of the dialogue that Don Mimmo Battaglia he addressed the soul of Antonio Morione and then turning to the assassins he asked them to surrender. "To the men who committed this act we can offer our pain, our anger, but never surrender. To them we say 'if you need us we are here, true courage is not running away but you will deliver to justice".
Two thoughts from the father-in-law and daughter-in-law were read from the pulpit.
