Naples, three prison officers attacked in Secondigliano. Capece: “We feel abandoned by everyone”
IERI (Yesterday) “three police officers, an inspector and two assistants were attacked in the Secondigliano prison by two inmates who did not want to return to their cells at 16 pm. The perpetrators were two Italian inmates, who were already known for similar violent acts but had not yet been transferred from Secondigliano as had been requested: they violently attacked the police officers with a rudimentary wooden club, injuring them”.
This is what Donato Capece, general secretary of the Autonomous Union of Penitentiary Police Sappe, denounces in a note.
“Colleagues who were victims of the attack - goes on - they were taken to hospital for treatment and all of Sappe's solidarity and closeness goes out to them". For Capece “this is the unacceptable daily scenario in which the Penitentiary Police Corps operates”.
“We can't go on like this: it's a continuous, daily drip”, goes on. "Being a prison policeman in prison is increasingly dangerous and we feel abandoned by everyone: by the institutions, by politics and especially by the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Penitentiary Administration! We are ready to take to the streets, in Naples, to demonstrate all our anger and our protest", Capece finally announces.
