Illegal landfills discovered in Casoria, Casavatore, Caivano, Afragola Cardito and Arzano. High impact operation by the Carabinieri of the Casoria Company and the Carabinieri Forestali aimed at combating environmental pollution in the municipalities of Casoria, Casavatore, Caivano, Afragola Cardito and Arzano.
In Casoria, the administrator of a company operating in the heavy vehicle painting and repair sector was reported. The military found the illegal storage of hazardous waste by seizing a 30 square meter area full of various types of garbage. Furthermore, the company did not have any authorization for emissions into the atmosphere. A warehouse of about 2.500 square meters was seized, with areas used for bodywork and a painting oven installed without authorization. The company administrator was also fined thousands of euros.
In Casavatore, the Carabinieri checked a local company that deals with the industrial production of steel household items. The sole director of the company was fined for "failure to comply with the authorization requirements for atmospheric emissions".
In Caivano, near the Roma camp on Via Cinquevie, the military seized an illegal landfill of waste consisting of household appliances, tires and solid urban waste over an area of 500 square meters.
In Afragola and Contrada Ferrarese, 3 areas approximately 150 meters long and full of solid urban waste have been reported to the competent authorities for remediation.
In Cardito – in the Iacp district – the Carabinieri reported to the local authority a municipal area along Viale Kennedy in which building materials, electrical parts and household appliances had been abandoned.
Finally, in Arzano, near the Roma camp on the external ring road, the Carabinieri reported an area of 100 square meters for cleanup containing tires, waste material and electrical parts of household appliances.
