Naples, after two years the Mergellina funicular reopens. All required checks have been carried out positively
On Tuesday 19 April at 9.30:XNUMX in Naples the Mergellina funicular reopens after two years of inactivity. Having successfully completed all the checks required by the National Agency for Railway Safety and having carried out the necessary maintenance work, the Funicular can now open in complete safety, thanks to the new hiring of specialized personnel and in accordance with a union agreement.
"We have worked constantly in recent months to reopen this important hillside connection. With a productive discussion with the workers we have managed to bring forward the opening that was initially planned for the summer. The Manfredi Council continues its efforts to give users a public transport service on par with a large European capital like Naples", comments the councilor for mobility Edoardo Cosenza.
