At the Pertosa Caves the Falaut Orchestra, among the songs Pirates of the Caribbean.
The 250 young musicians of the Falaut Campus (hosted in Polla) will move for a day to the Pertosa-Auletta Caves, where the Flute Falaut Orchestra will hold a concert on Friday 29 July at 18:XNUMX pm. The event is organized in collaboration with the MIDA Foundation-Integrated Museums of the Environment. One of the cave locations, the Belvedere, will be made available.
The eleventh edition of the Falaut Campus, which started last Monday, promises moments of intense fascination in the spaces of the focal geosites of the Cilento Geopark. The depths of the caves will be the backdrop for the orchestra that will play classical and pop pieces: “La samba alla turco” (a musical based on Mozart); “Malambo” by Alberto Ginastera; and finally the soundtrack of the film “Pirates of the Caribbean” composed by Hans Zimmer, the blockbuster film worldwide starring actor Johnny Depp. The Falaut Orchestra project, like the Falaut Campus, is organized by Maestro Salvatore Lombardi, while the orchestra is directed by Maestro Paolo Totti.
“An honor to be able to play in the absolute beauty of the Pertosa Caves – comments the artistic director of the Falaut Campus Salvatore Lombardi – The opportunity for our young musicians to have a unique experience and, at the same time, a way to give our territory the ecstasy of great international music. The Falaut project now builds a path of valorization of the territories in Campania. The synergy that has been woven in this moment between us of Falaut, the Municipality of Polla and the Mida Foundation is the proof that networking is necessary for the cultural growth of our communities”.
The MIdA Foundation – Integrated Environmental Museums is made up of the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno and the municipalities of Auletta and Pertosa. It was founded in 2004 and works to enhance a unique territory, included in the UNESCO global network of Geoparks, giving life to initiatives aimed at promoting its environmental and cultural resources. At the center of these initiatives are the municipalities of Auletta and Pertosa with their formidable Caves, which represent one of the most fascinating environmental sites in our country. Alongside the Caves, the Foundation has created a museum system with geo-speleological and botanical-landscape sections, as well as exhibition spaces for shows and conferences.
Falaut Campus. Not a common “Summer Campus”, but an experimental and operational center dedicated to music and young people. In the space of a week, Polla hosts more than two hundred students from all over Italy and Europe, transforming itself into a true “flute city”. Falaut Campus is a project of the Italian Flautists Association.
