A powerful lightning bolt struck the White House garden in Washington, causing three deaths.
The images of the lightning that struck Washington, near the White House, the residence of the American president, are indeed shocking. The victims are a couple, Donna and James Mueller, 75 and 76 years old, who had arrived in the capital of the United States to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary, and a 29-year-old, Brooks A. Lambertson from Los Angeles.
The three were walking in the gardens near the White House when lightning struck them, killing them instantly. The scene was noticed by Secret Service agents protecting US President Joe Biden. The agents tried to provide first aid but the electrical discharge had already killed them. There was a general stampede from the area.
