Film Commission Regione Campania: upcoming titles, new initiatives and the return of successful TV series.
The Film Commission Regione Campania returns to the Venice International Film Festival to promote the Campania region as an ideal and increasingly sought-after set for major film and TV series productions. Over 50 projects have been completed in 2022 and another 10 are in preparation until the end of the year, in addition to a strong commitment to new training and promotion activities. The regional Foundation, chaired by Titta Fiore and directed by Maurizio Gemma, continues and consolidates its work of institutional support for national and international productions, enhancing the extraordinary variety of locations and the artistic and entrepreneurial excellence of the area.
Among the sets being set up in Campania since September: the French production with the new film by Bruno Dumont, entitled Empire with Fabrice Luchini (prod. Tessalit Productions, Red Balloon Film, Ascent Film, Novak Prod, Furyo Films); Uonderbois, a series for Disney+ directed by Andrea De Sica and Giorgio Romano (Lotus production); the TV series with Massimo Ranieri for Canale 5 La voce che hai dentro directed by Eros Puglielli (Lucky Red production); I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone 4 directed by Monica Vullo (Clemart production) and also the films Shakespea Re di Napoli by Ruggero Cappuccio (production Teatro Segreto and Artimagiche), La casa di Ninetta directed by Lina Sastri (production Lina Sastri and Run Film), Nata per te by Fabio Mollo (production Bartleby Film, Cattleya) and Gli attassati directed by Lorenzo Tiberia (production Lungta Film, Vision Distribution). In 2023, the great international success of My Brilliant Friend returns with the fourth installment My Brilliant Friend: The Story of the Lost Child (Fremantle Production).
Many productions ended in 2022 and are about to reach the public. On Rai 1 Mina Settembre from September 25 with Serena Rossi and directed by Tiziana Aristarco (production Italian International Film and Rai Fiction) and in the fall the TV series Vincenzo Malinconico, Avvocato d'insuccesso, starring Massimiliano Gallo and based on the novels by Diego de Silva (co-production Rai Fiction – Viola Film) will arrive on Rai1. Soon on Rai 1 also the new season of Il Commissario Ricciardi, the Rai fiction based on the novels by Maurizio de Giovanni (Einaudi Stile Libero), with Lino Guanciale and directed by Gianpaolo Tescari (co-production Rai Fiction-Clemart) and the film Filumena Marturano with Massimiliano Gallo and Vanessa Scalera, directed by Francesco Amato (production Picomedia, Rai Fiction). And again for Netflix The Lying Life of Adults directed by Edoardo De Angelis (Fandango spa production), while on Rai 2 the third season of Mare Fuori directed by Ivan Silvestrini (Picomedia production, Rai Fiction), Due con, a documentary on the Abbagnale brothers directed by Felice Valerio Bagnato and Gianluca De Martino broadcast on Rai 3 (Solaria Film production, Peacock Film, Rai Documentari). On Rai 1 Mai più come prima from an original idea for TV by Maurizio de Giovanni with Francesco Arca directed by Monica Vullo (Palomar production, Rai Fiction) and the TV movie Diversi come due gocce d'acqua by Luca Lucini (Pepito Produzioni production, Rai Fiction).

In addition to the activities more closely related to filming and production, the Film Commission Regione Campania is also involved in four major projects of an educational nature and promotion of the territory. Procida Film Atelier 2022, the documentary film directing course for 12 young people from Campania, funded by the Campania Region, with the pedagogical and artistic supervision of Leonardo Di Costanzo and the coordination of Parallelo 41 Produzioni, is an immersive training course, which will culminate in the production of a cinematographic work on the culture, history and inhabitants of the island in the year of Procida Italian Capital of Culture. Let's Movie, the innovative WebApp constantly updated with virtual movie tours of the most successful films and TV series, offers an original experience in virtual and augmented reality and allows you to 'play' with characters and soundtracks, unreleased backstage content, clips and photos.
The Campania Audiovisual District - Digital and Creative Animation Hub, a 10.000 mXNUMX building located in Bagnoli (Na), is intended to host the first territorial audiovisual District, and aims to become the second national production hub, as well as a hub for local businesses and a study and experimentation center for innovative and strategic sectors such as digital post-production and creative animation. The Public School of Arts and Crafts of Cinema and Audiovisual is the highly specialized project aimed at implementing the already flourishing audiovisual ecosystem of Campania, integrating the existing training offer with new elements and networking them with content producing companies.

The constant work of valorizing the Campania region, which boasts the most interesting ferment of national fiction, finds further confirmation in the participation of the Film Commission in one of the most prestigious events in the sector, the Nastri d'Argento dedicated to seriality, organized by the National Union of Italian Film Journalists and which has rewarded the productions and talents of Campania, including I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone and Mare Fuori and, in 2021, L'amica geniale, Il Commissario Ricciardi and Mina Settembre.
As part of the training initiatives, a professional refresher course has also been activated, Unreal Engine 5 – Virtual Production, dedicated to improving the skills of digital asset creators and digital image processing and which will be held from 26 September to 7 October 2022. The Film Commission Regione Campania has to its credit, since its foundation (2004), with numbers that are always growing year after year, the assistance and facilitation for the realization of over 1.200 projects that range from the small to the big screen, including music videos, commercials and documentaries. In detail: 290 films and TV series, 500 documentaries and TV formats, 500 commercials and advertising shoots, music videos and short films.
