Trecase. He had disappeared yesterday: he was found safe and sound 24 hours later in a ravine where he had fallen.
It's a story with a happy ending from Trecase, a town on the slopes of Vesuvius where there was no longer any news of Francesco Celentano, a sprightly ninety-year-old who yesterday afternoon – as he often does – had left home for a walk but had never returned.
The relatives immediately reported him missing, which was followed by appeals from family friends. Today the searches, carried out by the Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata company, with the help of a police helicopter and some volunteers, gave the desired outcome: the man was found in a ravine in the area known as Cantinelle.
From what we learned, he had slipped but fortunately without any particular physical consequences, so much so that first to the rescuers and then to the personnel on duty in a 118 ambulance, the man appeared to be in excellent health.
He was then taken home without having to go to the hospital first. There was a big celebration upon his arrival, with pats on the back and souvenir photos of a misadventure that ended well.
