Naples. “My husband is abandoned on a stretcher in the emergency room of the Cardarelli hospital in Napoli for four days”.
This is the complaint of Mrs. Anna F., resident in Corso Malta in Naples. Her husband Diego V., 36 years old, had a domestic accident last Saturday and fractured his pelvis and hip. But despite the pain and the seriousness of the situation, he had not been taken to the ward until this morning.
“Diego,” says Mrs. Anna, “was doing some repairs at home on Saturday morning. He was on the ladder. He put his foot wrong and fell to the ground. We took him to the Cardarelli hospital but he has remained in the emergency room since then.
Every now and then some nurse gives him a painkiller and that's it. I would also like to point out that last night they stole a bag with some food from him and then they also stole his phone for a few hours, which was miraculously found this morning."
Mrs. Anna launches an appeal not only for her husband but for all those (as shown in the photo sent to us) who crowd the emergency room of the Cardarelli. “It is possible that in the largest hospital in the South the sick are forgotten and abandoned on the stretchers of the emergency room. Are we still at this point?
Has the pandemic taught us nothing? My husband, given his condition, should be operated on urgently. Yet after 4 days in the room he hasn't even been taken to the ward."
