MICHELE MERLO: 13 thousand euros to the “City of Hope Foundation” in memory of the deceased singer-songwriter
This morning, at the headquarters of the Fondazione Città della Speranza in Padua, the first European center for research on pediatric pathologies with a particular focus on hemato-oncological diseases and a point of reference for hundreds of internationally renowned scientists, Michele Merlo's parents presented Dr. Stefania Fochesato with two checks.
The first, worth €6500, was donated by the Play2give association and is the result of the proceeds from the “Michele Tra Le Righe” event organized last June 6. The second, of the same amount, was donated by the Romantico Ribelle Association thanks to the generosity of the sponsors who contributed to the realization of the event.
The following were present at the delivery of the 13000 euros collected: Dr. Stefania Fochesato (referent of the Città della Speranza Foundation), Dr. Claudia Tregnago (Leukemia research group, Città della Speranza Foundation), Domenico Merlo and Katia Ferrari (president and vice president of the Romantico Ribelle Association and parents of Michele), Enrico Garnero (president of the Play2Give Association), Massimo Bettalico and Stefano Venuta (consultants of the Play2Give Association and the Romantico Ribelle Association) and the little mascots Emma and Gioele.
“Last June 6th, at the municipal stadium of Rosà, many friends joined us to remember Michele between sport and music, his two great passions – commented Domenico and Katia Merlo on the sidelines of the meeting – on that occasion, thanks to the tickets sold and the donations of the sponsors, the funds were raised that were donated today to the Fondazione Città della Speranza in Padua. We really cared about keeping alive this bond with the Paduan structure that Michele had already supported other times over the years also thanks to the initiatives of his fans. This too, for us, is a way to continue to follow his path and to feel him close. We thank all the sponsors who gave us a hand, all the fans and friends of Michele who participated, the artists who wanted to be present at the match, the Play2Give association and its president Enrico Garnero who from the first moment made himself available for the realization of the solidarity event and all the volunteers of the association “Romantico Ribelle” who every day help us to carry on the memory of our Mike. We hope that we can continue to collaborate to do good and to remember Michele, his life, his music and his art for a long time”.
