Naples, Bar Association 'in arrears', three councillors resign. Internal disagreements within the legal body after the discovery of a debt of 1,1 million euros
Three councilors of the Naples Bar Association – Sabrina Sifo, Eugenio Pappa Monteforte and Ilaria Imparato – they resigned after having requested the appointment of a receiver to the body chaired by the lawyer Antonio Tafuri.
Both decisions were taken by councilors, according to what has been learned, are linked to disagreements that arose after having discovered last October 19, during a council meeting, the existence of a debt of 1,1 million euros, for taxes, duties and social security contributions not paid since 2008.
To cover the shortfall, the top management of the Bar Association, after consulting with several professionals, have drawn up, together with the Revenue Agency, a repayment plan (with an instalment payment of the debt) which was not shared by the various councillors and in particular by Sifo, Pappa Monteforte and Imparato who, after having requested the Order be placed under special administration, have resigned from their positions as councillors.
The three councilors are the same ones who last October filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Court of Auditors, asking them to shed light on the matter.
