He had parked the car in the service area to go to the bar, and upon exiting he surprised two men who, after having shattered the rear window of the car, were taking possession of a cardboard box containing cigarettes worth approximately 3 thousand euros.
The victim, the owner of a tobacconist, tried to stop them but was hit by their car, which turned out to be a rental, and suffered injuries that would take 10 days to heal. The incident occurred last March in the Baronissi Est service area of the Salerno-Avellino motorway.
The investigations of the traffic police of Napoli and the Eboli subsection, taken a few hours after the tobacconist's report, led to the identification of the two criminals, both from the eastern suburbs of Naples. It is DZ, a 40-year-old from the neighborhood San Giovanni a Teduccio and NAun 54 year old from the neighborhood Barra.
The two ended up under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.
But that's not all. The traffic police investigations also shed light on a scam carried out by the 40-year-old in Venice just five days after the robbery. The man, after reading an ad on Subito.it, went to the Veneto capital to 'buy' a Rolex Daytona Oyster Perpetual model worth 35 thousand euros.
Once he arrived in Venice, he agreed with the seller to meet him near a bank and handed over a cashier's check that later turned out to be fake.
