Demonstration wearing a T-shirt with the words “Justice for Gaetano” written on it, this morning in front of the courthouse in North Naples, in Aversa, in the province of Caserta, for the start of the trial regarding the gunshot wounding of Gaetano Barbuto Ferriauolo, the young man who, due to that attack, suffered about two and a half years ago in Sant'Antimo, near Naples, lost both his legs.
The organizer was the deputy of the Green-Sinister Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli who followed his story from the beginning, offering support and starting a fundraiser to allow him to walk again with bionic legs. Together with the provincial co-spokesperson of Europa Verde Agostino Galiero and Radiazza he guarded the area in front of the entrance to the historic building that houses the court, to ask that "justice be finally done".
Gaetano's mother was also present: "He couldn't make it today," the woman said, "his life has changed radically, inevitably, also because there are so many services for the disabled here. But he is a lion, he will get back up. No words of repentance have ever come from my son's attackers, on the contrary they celebrated on social media, them and their parents. It's shameful."
"Gaetano is a very strong boy and has a family that has supported him a lot - said Deputy Borrelli - but now justice must be done because they have been through all sorts of things. Whoever left him without legs, risking killing him, must go to jail and for a long time. This is the sentence we expect in March. We are demonstrating so that this story can be an example and Gaetano can become a symbol of justice that prevails over violence and crime".
