115 coffins were recovered from the valley below the Sant'Agata de' Goti cemetery after the collapse of the “Longo 1” block of burial niches on January 19.
Yesterday, Tuesday 24 January, 12 coffins were recovered and identified, which, added to those already recovered, brings the total number of recoveries made to 115.
Meanwhile, the operations for the transfer of the mortal remains buried in the other wing of the “Longo 1” block to the mother church and other burial niches available to relatives have been concluded, with the last 31 exhumations carried out yesterday.
Earthmoving equipment will be installed today to allow the recovery of the coffins still trapped in the collapsed block, operations that will require technical time to position the machines and secure the area of the construction site where the maneuvers are being carried out.
At the time of exhumation and subsequent transfer, the offices of the Municipality of Sant'Agata de' Goti will directly inform the relatives. At the cemetery, the Municipality informs, the complete list of the niches of the entire "Longo 1" block affected by the operations is posted.
