An armed gang attacked an armored van outside a post office in Maddaloni, carrying out a 51 euro robbery.
During their escape on board an SUV, the bandits were chased by a car from a private security company that was passing in front of the office and had noticed the bandits' movements, and there was - as confirmed by the Carabinieri of the local Company - also an exchange of gunshots, first fired from the bandits' car and to which the security guards responded; however, no one was injured.
It happened this morning at 8 in via Napoli in Maddaloni, shortly before the post office opened. thugs – there were four of them – approached the security guard who was about to insert the bag with the 50 thousand euros into the external cash register, from which the employees then withdraw the cash to put it in the safe or in the ATM.
Security guard made to lie down on the ground
At gunpoint, the guard was made to lie down on the ground and the bandits took possession of the bag and then fled at full speed on board an SUV. A car from the Rangers security company passed by at that moment and began chasing the criminals' car, from which gunshots were fired.
The guards also returned fire, so the bandits' car disappeared. The carabinieri acquired the footage from the post office's surveillance cameras.
