Fire in Naples extinguished, two intoxicated, building evacuated

Fire extinguished in Naples where firefighters, still on site, are checking the conditions of the building in Piazza Garibaldi which has been evacuated for now.

The elderly couple rescued, along with other people, during the fire-fighting operations were slightly intoxicated.

According to initial investigations, the fire started right from the couple's house. Four teams of firefighters were deployed on site with the help of special support vehicles.

The balconies were reached by firefighters with the help of a ladder truck. The firefighters together with the Carabinieri are now carrying out checks to ascertain the causes of the fire.
