Actress, acting coach, director and founder of the acting school “La Scugnizzeria”, Maddalena Stornaiuolo is the new police officer of the IPM (Juvenile Prison Institute) in the third season of the successful television series Mare Fuori.
Maddalena – one of the faces of Peppe Mastrocinque's PM5 Talent Agency – has been pursuing various theatrical, cinematographic and television projects with commitment and passion for years.
In 2023 she joined the cast of Mare Fuori 3, playing the police officer Maddalena, a role to which the Neapolitan actress seems to be very attached, despite having joined a reality that had already been consolidated for two seasons.
“I have always followed the Mare Fuori series as a spectator and fan, so when the news arrived at the agency that I had passed the audition, it was a moment of joy for me. Even though it was a project that had already been underway for two years, they welcomed us new actors in a spectacular way. There is a great atmosphere on the set, we work well, with serenity and professionalism. Together with the director we worked on the character of Maddalena. We liked the idea of creating a character who had empathy for the inmates, with whom I had to relate, with protective attitudes, since they are minors. This meant keeping a firm hand, while trying to maintain a line of softness, familiarity and welcome towards the kids. It is wonderful to work in the field, follow the evolution of the character and be able to do it with a director who welcomes you and with whom there is a lot of respect and exchange of ideas. In this regard, many scenes were added in which I actually shouldn't have been, so I am happy with the space that was given to me and I can't wait to resume this adventure”.
Born and raised in the Vele di Scampia, Maddalena Stornaiuolo, in 2017 founded the acting school La Scugnizzeria in Scampia, which offers an alternative to the streets to the scugnizzi of the area and many of its students are involved as actors in various films.
In 2018 we see Manca in the role of Avvocato Di Giacomo, in the second season of I bastardi di Pizzofalcone directed by Alessandro D'Alatri.
In 2020 he made his directorial debut at the Venice Film Festival (Giornate degli autori) with the short film Sufficiente, winner of the Nastro d'Argento (Special Award), while in the same year he played the role of acting-coach for the film Fortuna by Nicolangelo Gelormini, with Valeria Golino. He works as a dialogue-coach for the TV series L'Amica geniale directed by Daniele Luchetti.
In 2021 he returned to the Giornate degli autori review with his second short film entitled Coriandoli, with which he won the Premio Cinema Campania, the Sulmona Film Festival award and a special mention at the BAFF.
In 2022 he plays the role of personal dialogue coach for actress Valeria Golino, for the Netflix series La vita bugiarda degli adulti, directed by Edoardo De Angelis.
Among her films, we remember her interpretation of Gelsomina Verde – a victim of the Camorra during the Scampia feud – in the film of the same name directed by Massimiliano Pacifico, for which she won a special mention as Best Actress at the Social World Film Festival.
And again Il sindaco Pescatore, a film directed by Maurizio Zaccaro, a director with whom he had already worked in 2008 on the series 'O professore, both projects with Sergio Castellitto.
