Sthis morning the officers of the Fuorigrotta Highway Police Sub-section and the personnel in charge of the Ring Road Traffic Napoli SpA, intervened on the stretch of motorway between the “Italia 90” junction and the “Vomero” junction on the Naples-bound carriageway following a report of a horse that had escaped the owner's control.
The operators immediately proceeded to warn the users with signals on the variable message panels and carried out the “safety car” protocol to slow down the traffic, then managing to stop the animal and bring it to safety; the horse, scared and with a slight wound on the right front leg, was given water and given medical care before being returned to its owner.
The latter, who had not noticed that he had escaped from the stable-box, was charged with a violation of the Highway Code for driving animals on the motorway.
