Cava de' Tirreni. Yesterday, at the headquarters of the association "Alema", in Marini di Cava de'Tirreni, in collaboration with the association "Casa mia Onlus Dopo di Noi", the party was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the planting of the persimmon tree from Nagasaki, which took place on April 27, 2013. The tree is one of the few things that survived the tragic event of the atomic bomb, dropped on the Japanese city on August 9, 1945. The tree was cared for by Dr. Ebimuma, and from the seeds obtained from its fruits, numerous seedlings were born that were distributed throughout the world as a symbol of peace.
The ceremony was preceded by a procession from the Church of San Marco to the association headquarters.
This was followed by speeches by Bruno Bertone, responsible for the “Tree of Peace” project, and by the authorities of the municipal administration represented by the deputy mayor Nunzio Senatore, by the Councilor for Education, Heritage, Common Goods Lorena Iuliano and by the councilor Anna Padovano Sorrentino. The closing was the Eucharistic celebration officiated by Don Giuseppe Gorintla.
The association “Casa mia Onlus Dopo di Noi” is a structure equipped with large internal and external spaces adequately equipped to host adults with mental and cognitive disabilities.
The structure is not a place of care but a place of life, where activities aimed at the autonomy of the person are organized; it wants to represent a home where one can continue to carry out daily life through the realization of laboratory and cultural activities open to the territory, with the intent of living and strengthening the value of sociality and solidarity.
