The City Council of Naples has approved, on the proposal of the Urban Planning Councillor Laura Lieto and the Heritage Councillor Pier Paolo Baretta, the proposal to the Council of some technical and economic feasibility projects of particular importance for the neighbourhood of Scampia.
In particular, this concerns “RESTART SCAMPIA_a new eco-district in the area of the former lot M” CUP: B61B22000670006 admitted to funding under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan; the “completion of the building redevelopment and urban regeneration interventions of the building sectors included in the Scampia district, connected to the works planned within the Scampia PUI; the strategic operation: RESTART SCAMPIA_a new eco-district in the area of the former lot M” – PON Metro Plus 2021-2027 with adoption of the consequent urban planning variant.
“This resolution – explains Lieto – is a fundamental step in the regeneration process of Lot M of Scampia because it approves the essential elements of the project for the new neighborhood that will be built in place of the Vele and because it defines the urban variant that opens the way to this great transformation. We are particularly satisfied with the quality and commitment of this work.
The project, drawn up by the technical group of the Municipality of Naples in collaboration with Municipality 8, the Federico II University and the representatives of the inhabitants of the Vele, gives back to this community a space tailored to the inhabitant, where the theme of residence is accompanied by the production of local services and open spaces of great quality from a landscape and environmental point of view. This important result comes after a year of work that we have committed to creating a quality project but above all to building a relationship of trust between the territory and the institutions".
