Yesterday evening, the agents of the General Prevention Office, during the territorial control service, on the orders of the Operations Centre, intervened at the “Pisacane” gate on the side of the Porta di Massa dock in the port of Naples following a report of a person on board a ferry coming from Capri who had been responsible for a theft in a shop on the island.
In particular, the officers of the Capri Police Station, shortly before, had intervened at the commercial establishment where, thanks also to the viewing of the images from the video surveillance system of the same, they had ascertained that a man had stolen a bag from the shop and then boarded a ferry headed to Naples.
Therefore, the operators stopped the man upon arrival of the ferry, finding him in possession of the bag, some items of clothing, a perfume, a watch and another bag with 1600 euros, the provenance of which he was unable to justify.
A 43-year-old Iraqi with a criminal record was charged with aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods; the bag was eventually returned to the business manager.
