Chris Martin of the Coldplay two weeks after the unforgettable double concert at the Maradona stadium, he still talks about Napoli and their dream of holding a concert in the city of Maradona and Pino Daniele.
He did it during a long interview given, not by chance, to the DJ of radio 105, Pellecchia Rosary, from Castellammare di Stabia and a big Napoli fan.
“Playing in Naples has been a dream for a long time. Especially for the novels of Elena Ferrante, the films of Paolo Sorrentino, Maradona, and all that. We were always like, 'We have to go there.' For some reason we never did. I was watching a movie a few years ago and 'Napule è' came on. I thought, 'This song is incredible.'
So I called our manager and said, 'We have to start the tour in Naples,' because of that song. We love playing everywhere. It was special there and we have to go back. We played there for that song, we wanted to sing it. It's really beautiful, and even if you don't speak Italian you like it, it goes straight to the heart. Some songs that talk about a place are nationalistic and scary. This one is not. It's emotional,” explained the frontman of the British band Chris Martin during the interview.
