Mourning in the world of football, is dead Trevor Francis. The former footballer of the Sampdoria passed away suddenly at the age of 69. According to the online edition of the Mirror the man suffered a heart attack while he was in Marbella in Spain. Francis wore the Sampdoria shirt from 1982 to 1986, he won the 1984/85 Coppa Italia also becoming the top scorer of the competition.
He made 67 appearances and scored 17 goals for the Blucerchiato. Francis was also a true icon for English football. An absolute idol for the fans of the Nottingham Forest, the striker led the club to a European Cup double in 1978–79 and 1979–80, with Forest also winning the Super Cup in 1979.
With the Three Lions jersey he collected 52 appearances and 12 goals. After hanging up his boots in 1994 following his adventure with the Sheffield Wednesday, Francis was a coach of QPR, Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham e Crystal Palace, with his last bench in 2003 and the controversial episode for the expulsion suffered in the championship after having beaten up his second goalkeeper.
