'Scugnizzi forever', the docuserie which tells the epic of the Juvecaserta, the only team from Southern Italy that managed to win the Italian Championship in '91 basketball. On air on Monday 21, Thursday 24 and Friday 25 August in prime time on Rai2. Juvecaserta was the first and only team from the South to win the Italian title of basket, protagonist of a human and sporting story that deserved to be told.
The docuseries, produced by Tramp Ltd in collaboration with Rai Documentari, retraces in six episodes the years that saw a group of boys from Caserta, including Nando Gentile and Enzo Esposito, become the heart and soul of a formidable team. In a decade of memorable matches played at the Palamaggiò in Caserta and away from home, the scugnizzi were able to challenge the very rich teams of northern Italy and other big clubs in Europe, where NBA stars also played.
South versus North, poor versus rich, urchins versus giants are the themes that characterize the narrative of 'Scugnizzi per sempre', offering, through this exciting sports tale that will be broadcast on Rai2, a cross-section of Italy in the 80s and 90s.
