The feeling is that, after having only recently finished serving a sentence of over a decade, he is still playing with fire and could attract further legal trouble. For his part, however, Fabrizio Corona, who with his serial revelations about an alleged racket betting who is shaking up the world of football, claims not only that he now has "respect for the law", but also that with his "sources” anonymous, two or three at least, is dropping “bombs”, as he calls them, and giving “journalism lessons”.
In the meantime, yesterday he was summoned as a witness in the investigation by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office into illicit betting on online platforms, in which Nicolò Fagioli, Sandro Tonali and Nicolò Zaniolo are being investigated. All names revealed in advance, before their involvement emerged with investigative documents, by the former king of paparazzi on social media profiles, but in particular on Dillingernews.it, which in these days is becoming the news drum on the new alleged football scandal. One of the probable investigation profiles, meanwhile, could also concern an alleged leak, even if to contest the revelation of official secrecy the "deep throat" would have to be a public official.
The investigation, however, may be affected by the continuous leaking of details, as already happened yesterday when the agents had to enter Coverciano to seize the phones of Zaniolo and Tonali. The hunt is therefore on for the "moles" of the former photographic agent. In Milan, at the moment, it is clarified that there are no open files connected to the Turin investigation. In the meantime, the website managed by what Corona calls his "Dillinger gang", in homage to the American bank robber, today released details that even implicate "Zaniolo's mother", who allegedly had, it is written, "a leading role in her son's betting ring".
Then, the long-awaited, for hours, fourth name, namely Nicola Zalewski, Polish full-back for Roma. In the videos in which Corona recorded the phone calls, the person he always calls his “informant” seems to have at least three different voices. “Up to now, he has proven to be absolutely reliable,” writes Dillingernews. “A person well-connected in the world of football and betting. Whether it’s someone inside the FIGC or someone connected to the world of betting is irrelevant.” The source who allegedly revealed the name of the Roma full-back to him says many other things. “I also know Fagioli who he owes a lot of money to,” he says. “The Serbian underworld?” asks Corona. “No, no, I assure you that here in Rome it’s not just the underworld that has a bank, because I have learned through friends with certainty that a singer or a DJ has a very important bank in Rome.”
“This betting shop – adds the voice – I know that it had some players playing including … (sounds start to cover the names, ed.) Fagioli I know that he owes him 70 thousand euros”. The former celebrity photographer claims to have a list of at least “50 names”, while another newspaper of his circuit, Mow, writes about his meeting last night at a service station with a “relative” of a person “who was acting as a front man for the former Roma player” Zaniolo. Unstoppable Corona launches accusations against Juventus, saying that “it will come out that it committed an offence of failure to report” and is convinced that when everything comes out “football will close”.
