The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a new weather alert for rain and strong thunderstorms, strong south-westerly winds with gusts and rough or very rough seas with possible storm surges, valid from midnight today until 23.59pm tomorrow, Sunday 5 November.
The alert level is Yellow throughout the region. Storms, even of strong intensity, will give rise to a hydrogeological risk with possible flooding, overflows, rising water levels of watercourses with flooding of surrounding areas, surface flow of rainwater in the streets and involvement of depressed urban areas, falling rocks and landslides linked to particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions or due to soil saturation.
The Civil Protection of the Campania Region calls the Mayors to pay the utmost attention. Please remember to activate the municipal operations centres, to implement all the rules set out in the civil protection plans and to adopt the necessary measures to mitigate the risk and secure the territory and protect citizens.
